Rare ring by British silversmith Samuel Jacob, active in London at the end of 19th century beginning 20 th.
The ring is stamped with his hallmark S.J.
And 925
It features a genuine ruby and a beautiful natural amethyst.
This wonderful ring is typical of the very progressive style of Samuel Jacob .
He produced Victorian pieces, but then right from the beginning of the 1900's Art Nouveau jewelry already announcing Art Deco.
Proving so to be part of that cutting edge mouvance which sprouted and bloomed in Germany at the time, the Bahaus.
Those creators actually brought on very early the Art Deco revolution which did spread all over Europe and USA in the 1920' s and 30's
So a very interesting piece, not only very pretty. But stunning work of one of the most creative creator of the 1900' s
