Antique Victorian Era Silver Gold Gilt Signet Ring Maroon Faceted Ruby Gem Stone Circa: Mid 1800's

Original antique silver gold gilt signet ring of Victorian date. The ring details a convex band which rises to wider decorated shoulders and is a typical signet ring in style. The setting is oval on plan and counter set with an impressive and large facet cut Ruby. The 2nd picture shows the colour of the Ruby when back lit. In natural light the stone is a wonderfully warm deep blood red to purple spectral tone.

Ring sizes are approx. UK Ring size W 1/2, US size 11 1/2,  @ 5.4 grams. My Grade - Very Fine: Purchased at a London Auction 2014 - Property of a French collector. Excellent age pa,tination tones to the reverse of the bezel: The Ruby as a facet cut example is of AAA grade and extremely fine with little age striations od discernable wear associated with age. A very fine and impressive signet ring. Core tested to fine silver and with 90 % of the Mercury Gold Gilt application intact.

Ring Grade Scale Meanings:

Extremely Fine:
Perfect in my opinion in all regards.

Very Fine:
Near perfect oval band, setting and gem stone or intaglio representation (note the description for specific listing guidance).

Fine:
Fine band oval with slight off circle on plan, setting may contain age blemish marks or slight chips and or scratches (note the description for specific listing guidance).

Good to Fine:
The ring will have flaws as listed within the descriptions and shown on listing pictures. Note ancient rings will always be listed thus (note the description for specific listing guidance).

Opaque Maroon Ruby  Metaphysical:

Ruby is to be carried or worn to provide a focus for Universal Life Force to enter your spirit. It will aid you in finding new paths in life and giving you the energy you need to walk those paths. It is a traditional birthstone and a popular gem. When opaque as with this ring it is far more affordable than the typical clear red variety however, in essence it contains the same principal metaphysical properties.
