Art Deco Ruby Diamond Ring, Striking Design with Intricate Filigree Work, 14K White Gold, Circa 1920s

This ring is so striking - both for the bright and richly colored rubies as well as for the intricate filigree setting....Crafted of solid 14K white gold, the ring features two fat oval-marquise shaped lab rubies and a small single cut diamond. With incredibly bright and rich hot-pink-raspberry color (one is ever so slightly more red than the other), the lab rubies have lovely clarity and a great shape to them.....almost like faceted ovals, but their ends have a bit of a point to them, like a marquise cut.  They measure approximately 7 x 9.5 mm and are in great condition with just a bit of wear.  One stone has a very small chip at the girdle...and interestingly they show a bit more wear to the faceting underneath.  They both test as rubies, but I am sure they are lab rubies, rather than naturally mined gems.Held in place with two small prongs each, as well as the top loops of the white gold bow that creates part of the intricate shoulder design on each side...which is really a charming touch!  Both stones are a bit loose and could use their prongs retipped and tightened, so I will go ahead and have that done before the ring head's to it's new home.In the center of the ring, set in a small diamond shaped setting with a double row of milgrain is a small, sparkly, single cut diamond measuring approximately 2 mm in diameter.  (estimated at approximately .028 to .03 carats)  I would judge this little stone to have H-I color and it's clean to the naked eye as well as under magnification. In good condition, it has two very tiny nicks at one facet near it's girdle and a prong, that can only be seen with close scrutiny under magnification.Intricate leafy and scrolling filigree decorates both shoulders and undergallery of the ring, with the feminine bow motif extending partway down the upper shoulders.  Milgrain edging is still quite clear and the leaf motif extends approximately halfway down the band.  The detail work is in good condition - I see only two tiny spots where the filigree has separated on one lower shoulder.  It's not a spot that worries me for the structure of the ring, but if you would like me to get a quote from my bench jeweler for repairing it with a lazer, please let me know.  (Please see macro photo #4.  Photo #5 shows the other shoulder, with no damage, for comparison purposes.)This ring has a very large presence on the hand...both in scale and with the detail and color of the lab rubies.  The face measures approximately 16 x 23.2 mm and has a rise off the finger of approximately 6 mm at it's highest point. The band is still sturdy and in good condition, with a polished area at the back of the band that is suitable for small sizing adjustments.  It retains a mark of "14K" inside the band.  The total weight of the piece is 4.00 grams.Size 4.75 on my ring mandrel, the ring fits a bit more snugly due to the large size of the face.  It could be sized within reason by a good jeweler who is experienced with filigree pieces.  **  Please read my policies page for more information regarding sizing and feel free to message me to discuss it or to obtain a quote from my trusted bench jeweler.Vibrant and full of detail...this lovely ring is ready for a new home...Please write with any questions and Thanks for looking!**  To see other beautiful pieces that I add to my shop every day or two, please see my collection here:https://www.etsy.com/shop/Franziska?ref=hdr_shop_menu
