Oversized sterling silver ring with 14K rose gold band, made from salvaged antique pieces. Top was a Victorian era Aesthetic Movement silver brooch with an engraved Japanese-like design of grasses and flowers, with a tiny butterfly and border done in a rose gold overlay. The base of the ring was a 1910s/1920s era custom cocktail ring that was missing a stone and was too odd a size to find a replacement. Front has been hard soldered onto the original setting of the base, and the setting has been cut to a curve along the back so it sits comfortably on the finger and won't wobble.
Ring is made from salvaged material and may show signs of wear from its former life. The back of the brooch has some un-eveness where the original findings were removed, but the entire piece has been sanded to remove any rough edges and the entire piece has machine polished to a high shine. Metal is not marked, but has been tested to be sterling and 14K gold.
Ring is about a size 7.5. Front measures 1 1/4" square, and band in back is 2mm wide. Total weight is 7.9 grams.
