Eloise is a unbelievably fabulous, natural ruby and diamond 14kt yellow and white gold cocktail ring, most likely from the sixties, before dressing well and hats lost their charm.The shank is yellow gold, while the setting is white, not marked, but tested and guaranteed. She is a size 5 1/2. There are twenty-six marquise cut rubies totaling around 2.85 ctw (they are all slightly different sizes and difficult to measure in their settings). The six round diamonds are each about 1mm. The rubies are just so charming, the inclusions make them easy to identify as natural and the colors are so intriguing, ranging from violet pink to orange pink (one appears to me to be a padparadscha in color) to purply red. The lady who originally wore this must have been so excited to show it off at glitzy parties and balls. There is no point in claiming that this is an everyday ring, it just isn't. You might put her on when by yourself, just to admire the colors and flow of light but she was meant to impress and if you have an occasion coming up, what a chance to shine! (Why is it that the mother of the bride/groom or the maid of honor never get a ring? Just a dress that will never be worn again, sigh.)
