ANTIQUE GENUINE Ruby Cocktail Ring in 9k yellow English Gold, size 7
An astonishing cocktail ring that found its way to our hands crossing oceans of time.A beauty from 1947 still sparkling with the brightness of its first youth.This gorgeous cocktail ring in a "rosette" flower design hosts an excellent oval-cut 1.36 ct. Ruby. The stone is untreated/unheated and it would be rated as a VS1. The vibrant red gem was set by hand in the heart of his flower jewel and secured by 12 prongs. Twelve exquisite white Topaz were set around the center stone accenting the crimson heart of the rosette with their flashing reflections. A beautiful lace-work of hand-twisted gold is completing the this splendid cocktail ring. On the inside surface of the band can be seen clearly the hallmarks of "375" which correspond to the 9k quality of the yellow English gold, the town sign of Birmingham where this one-of a kind piece was made and also the letter "x" in the specific font type that was used in the year of its manufacturing. There are also stamped the initials of "D & W" indicative of the jeweler who made it.This ring is a fine example of handcrafted jewelry in the early post-war period.
