Antique Ring Gold Diamond Sapphire Ruby Emerald Pearl Rajasthan Kundan c1920 (#5746)

Antique ring. High karat gold, diamond, ruby, emerald sapphire and natural Basra pearl. Made Rajasthan, India circa 1910-20.

Probably made for a man, but can be worn by a woman.

Measurements: US size 7. Can be resized. Weighs 10.6grams.

Beautifully made and consisting of beautiful gem stone elements. Round topped bezel with concentric borders, arching slightly and in ropelike filigree goldwork. A central diamond in a quatrafoil kundan setting (foiled) is surrounded by 4 fine gems: a ruby, emerald, sapphire and natural pearl. The gems are interspersed with engraved sprays. Shoulders with raised kundan mounts, containing leaf-shaped diamonds surrounded by snaking raised goldwork and gold granulation. It appears that there was other detail to the shank, but this has largely worn away through the years.

Workmanship and design of this ring is exceptionally lovely and it makes a great ring to wear on a daily basis or for special occasions.

Marks: none, as is to be expected. The gold was acid tested between 18-22k (slightly weak on 22) and is probably around 20k.

Condition: good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures for details.
