Antique Ring, Victorian Garnet, Ruby and Rose Cut Diamond Crown Ring 14k/18k c. 1870

This amazing piece is a marriage of an antique garnet carbuncle with a ruby and rose cut diamond crown set in 18k to an openwork base and band in 14k added later.  The original Victorian garnet/crown element was probably a brooch or an element of a larger piece.  Whoever decided to turn it into a ring had a great idea--this is a statement ring through and through, gemmy and regal with impressive size.  It is also fairly heavy too, so you'll get your workout wearing it!

Not stamped or signed but acid-tested for 14k and 18k gold.

Measures a whopping 1.25" end to end of the top detail and stands 5/8" tall from the finger when worn.  Band tapers to 2.5mm and is thick.

Ring size 6 and can be resized as needed.

Weighs 14 grams.
